Sunday 24th February at 4.30pm

(Repeated Wednesday 27th February at 9.32pm)

The War is Over...

Well, the battle over which DVD format would become the industry standard is over, to be exact. Toshiba has announced that it will stop making High Definition (HD) DVD players and recorders, leaving the opposition, Blu-ray, with a clear run. So what does this mean for the consumer? Providing you didn't rush out and buy a HD DVD recorder and player, it's good news, says Gartner analyst Paul O' Donovan. He tells presenter Adam Walton how he thinks the market will pan out in the future.

Getting Creative

The fabulous AV (Audio Visual) Festival is launched this week and if you ever needed convincing that technology could be used as a creative tool then take a look at the website. Apart from the amazing electronic installations, the event celebrates moving image and electronic music. Honor Herger, creative director, talks us through the best bits.

Accessible Websites

And talking about being creative, it's all very well offering whizzy websites, with all kinds of flashes and movies, but what happens if a sizeable minority can't see it? Bangor University's School of Computer Science, and the charity Vision Support are working on a two year project to try and improve website accessibility, as well as looking at other ways of using technology to help visually impaired people.

Cheaper Calls

We don't usually offer financial advice on mousemat, but did you know you could make huge savings on you telephone bills by making your phone calls over the internet? When we last featured IP telephony, or VoIP (Voice over IP) on the programme it was very much an emerging technology. But it's becoming more mainstream and as utility companies increase their charges maybe this is the year to make the switch. Daniel Booth, deputy editor of Web-User Magazine, talks to Adam about the technology and how you can get started.
