Future Gazing
Well mousemat is back after a short break and it couldn't be more timely. All the latest gizmos and gadgets have been unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas - we hear two differing views of the event from Darren Waters, BBC Technology Editor, and New York-based technology analyst Michael Gartenberg.
Chips, chips, chips...
Yes we know they're off the menu at home, after all that Christmas over-indulgence, but here at mousemat we love 'em - especially the transistor types. You find them in everything from mobile phones to MP3 players, cars to aircraft - so it's hard to believe that when they were first 'discovered' over sixty years ago, scientists struggled to find a use for them. Analyst Malcolm Penn, of Future Horizons, tells us their history and talks to Adam about how they might be used in future years.
E-mail Emergency
We've all had problems with fake and junk e-mails, but for most of us it's simply a matter of hitting the delete button and moving on. Kate Jones Davies, from Cardiff, found herself in a far more worrying situation. Her own e-mail address was being used as the reply address for one particular scammer and her inbox became jammed with some extraordinary responses. She tells Adam what happened and how she finally resolved it.
Best of all, PC Doctor Simon Zerafa is back to solve your PC problems so don't suffer in silence, send them on....
