mousemat: Programme 26
This week Adam Walton discusses the start of the switchover to digital TV in the UK. We have some tips to boost your web browsing and there's advice about PDAs and other handheld devices.
TV switch to digital begins soon
The switchover to an all digital TV network in Britain will begin this October in the Cumbrian town of Whitehaven. It will then spread across the UK, with Wales set to go digital from late 2009 into 2010. Emyr Hughes of Digital UK joins mousemat to discuss the process of switchover and how well people are gearing up to receive digital TV, if they don't already. You can call Digital UK on 08456 50 50 50.

There are many free downloads that can be used to enhance the web browsing experience. Daniel Booth, the deputy editor of Web User magazine outlines some of the most useful. Daniel focuses in on: AI Roboform, eSnips, StumbleUpon and Blummy
PDA or not PDA? That is the question
We've had a question from listener Lynda Newcombe about PDAs (personal digital assistants) asking for advice on downloading books onto them. Tom Dunmore, editor in chief of Stuff discusses Microsoft Reader, the merits of PDAs and the trend towards smartphones and e-book readers instead, which are gaining in popularity.
Surfing habits clean up
Recently a survey of web surfing habits in the UK revealed for the first time that search engines have become more popular than "adult" websites. This change marks a move towards more mainstream use of the web, and shows up details of how different search engines cater for different requirements of web surfers. Adam chats to Heather Hopkins of online intelligence service Hitwise.
