Take a trip down memory lane as we serve up some of the best bits from the last few years of the Evening Show, with Alan Thompson and Mal Pope.
Radio Wales Music Day - 1
On the first ever Radio Wales Music Day on March 1 2010, Radio Wales celebrated the wealth of talent old and new that makes Wales the Land of Song. On the Evening Show, hosted by Al and Mal, we had a very special show with live music from Amy Wadge, Tim and Sam, Al Lewis & Sarah Howells, and The Me Me Me's. You can listen to highlights from all of the performances over on the Wales Music blog.
Stereophonics
Three ordinary lads from Cwmaman who went from signing-on to being signed by Richard Branson. When Stuart Cable left the band everybody wondered whether that would be the end for The Stereophonics, but instead they've gone from strength to strength.
Listen again to Mal speaking to Kelly and Richard on the ups and downs of the band before they played Cardiff Castle in 2009. This is the first time Mal had spoken to the boys since he turned them down for an appearance at the Aberdare Coliseum in the nineties... something they hadn't forgotten!
Listen to Mal and the boys..
Jimmy Webb
Listen again to Alan's interview with the truly legendary songwriter Jimmy Webb, who was in the UK with his sons performing new and old material as 'Jimmy webb and the Webb Brothers'.
Part 2 - talking about the Grammy Award winning song 'Highwayman'.
Part 3 - Jimmy talks about his close friend Richard Harris and 'MacArthur Park'.

The Evening Show at the BBC Electric Proms
The 23 October 2009 was designated 'Dame Shirley Day' on BBC Radio Wales, celebrating the life and career of the Welsh Diva. Al and Mal travelled to London to broadcast live from Dame Shirley's concert at the BBC Electric Proms, which was taking place that day. They met many of the stars who were involved at the gig. Here you can hear Al's interviews with James Dean Bradfield of the Manics and Richard Hawley - formerly of Pulp.

A-Ha
On 5 August Alan was joined on the programme by Morten Harket and MagneFuruholmen from A-Ha. In this two part interview Morten and Magne talk about their new album and why they've found it difficult to shake off their teeny bopper image.
