Members of BBC National Orchestra of Wales took the opportunity of challenging some fellow musicians to test their skills during time out from rehearsals for their peformances at the Welsh and London Proms. But the abilities being examined weren't of the musical kind, they were fielding, batting aand bowling in a full blown game of cricket.

The BBC National Orchestra of Wales invited the Orchestra of English National Opera team to play them as part of their summer fixtures against teams from all professions. Being fellow musicians they took the opportunity to have some fun and give the match musical theme by bringing their instruments along.

The return fixture at ENO's home ground in London will be played whilst BBC National Orchestra of Wales are in the English Capital to perform at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms in London.

The BBC National Orchestra of Wales willl be appearing at the Welsh Proms at St David's Hall, Cardiff on Friday 18 July and Wednesday 23 July and the BBC Proms in London 25 & 27 July, 8 August and 4 September. Tickets are available direct from the venue's box office.
