Swansea season continues with the nation's favourite music.

Updated: 01 February 2008

Brangwyn Hall, Thursday 7 January at 7.30pm.

The Orchestra will be conducted by Principal Guest Conductor, Jac van Steen who never fails to create a special chemistry with this orchestra.

They will be joined by one of the busiest pianists on the international scene, Nicolai Demidenko, to play one of the most popular of all concertos, Grieg's famous Piano Concerto. This piece is full of youth and vigour and reminiscent of a Norwegian spring morning.

Nicolai Demidenko is one of the most physically powerful pianists on the international concert scene. The Guardian

Dvorak's Sixth Symphony opens with one of the most uplifting and soaring melodies that he ever wrote and is permeated by Czech dance and folk melody to continue the uplifting mood.

Tchaikovsky's Hamlet: Fantasy Overture completes the programme, full of the dark drama of Shakespeare's play as well as its romantic poignance.

Tickets cost £10-£14 (reductions available). Just call the Audience Line free on 0800 052 1812 to book.
