Miriam Bowen brings a wealth of experience and great versatility to her role as vocal coach for the BBC National Chorus of Wales.
An accomplished soprano, Miriam has performed extensively throughout Britain in opera, oratorio and recitals and on radio, television and CD.
Equally at home in all musical styles ranging from early music to contemporary compositions, she effortlessly adapts her way of singing to fit whatever type of music she is performing and the audience she is performing it for.
Miriam's knowledge of the art and science of voice production along with her superb musicianship and ability to inspire her students makes her an ideal teacher. As well as her role with the chorus, she is a tutor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the University of Wales, Cardiff.
She has been associated with the chorus since 1997 and her work involves giving singing lessons to choristers and leading entertaining and stimulating vocal workouts with the chorus as a whole.
She also takes an active role in the audition process, and thereby has an unique influence on the overall sound and balance of the chorus.
