Come and Sing Elijah

Do you sing in a choir? Do you want to be involved in the largest ever performance of Mendelssohn's Elijah in Wales? Then get in touch!

On Sunday 22 February 2009, the BBC National Orchestra & Chorus of Wales will be hosting a day of rehearsals of Mendelssohn's Elijah, all leading to a final performance that afternoon. This spectacular FREE event will take place in BBC Hoddinott Hall, Cardiff Bay, and will involve choirs and choruses from around Wales.

Who is eligible to take part?

This free event is open to individuals as well as choirs and choruses. The day will consist of light-hearted rehearsals and practise leading to the final performance. The only entry requirements are that you've had some experience of singing in a choir, are able to read music and/or know Mendelssohn's Elijah. There may be some preparation work we ask you to do before the day.

To register some interest in taking part, please email now@bbc.co.uk by Sunday 1 February 2009. Alternatively call the BBC National Orchestra of Wales Audience Line on freephone 0800 052 1812.
