Caernarfon Town threw another two goal lead away, as struggling Afan Lido came from behind to draw 2-2, thanks to an Andrew Pearson brace.
The first half was a poor affair with few shots on goal, as both sides struggled to win the midfield battle. However, both clubs hit the woodwork: the visitors first from an Andrew Pearson drive which hit the bar and went over, soon followed by a Caernarfon free kick which was seemingly heading for the top corner till it dipped, hit the bar and was cleared off the line.
The 2nd half was far more entertaining, with the hosts coming out in a far more attractive mode, and just six minutes after the restart, star striker James McIlvogue headed home from close range after a fine cross from the impressive Wayne Phillips.
Just five minutes later the Canaries doubled their lead, with hard working striker Steve Watkin sliding home from a low cross from the edge of the penalty area.
It seemed the visitors were dead and buried, but the Canaries' curse of throwing away a 2 goal lead came back to haunt them yet again. Lido midfielder Andrew Pearson halfed the defecit on 62 minutes with a fine drive from the edge of the area, making the most of poor marking from the Caernarfon defence. And just 4 minutes from time Pearson beat the offside trap and slotted a low shot under keeper Willcock.
Caernarfon will be disappointed to throw away yet another 2 home points after seeming home and dry at the hour mark. On the other hand, Lido will be delighted to be going home to Port Talbot with a point, and gave the home side a hard lesson on how to take your chances.
