Had a really good day on Tryfan and the Glyders yesterday, even better because nobody stopped me to ask directions, which is a first. On a serious note, looking at the OVMRO website I notice they got called out a couple of weeks ago to a family lost on North ridge. Would this be the same women and two sons who asked me for directions just below Milestone in the morning and were told 'It's a strenuous climb and gets tricky near north tower, personally I won't go any further'. Tryfan is a beautiful and challenging mountain, if you must go up with little or no experience at least look at a guide book or map first and heed advice offered by more experienced walkers, The OVMRO and 22 sqd are there for real emergencies not to hold people's hands because they go out ill equipped/prepared. Any news on the new webcam?

As you may have noticed we are still having technical problems with the camera: another piece of hardware has failed. We are now looking at doing a complete upgrade of our webcam system in the next few months. It will be a much better service, so please be patient with us.

Magnificent Tryfan...first saw you in 1955...done so many climbs there. Used to hitch to Wales from Blackburn each weekend. I now visit several times a year, unable to climb the same, now approaching 70. Happy memories of Idwal Cottage, Tal y Braich and climbing friends from decades ago. My heart still misses a beat at the sight of you.

Anybody else notice how wrong the Met Office forecast was on Tuesday 28th? I cancelled my ascent of the north ridge, but was amazed at how many people went ahead. Hoping to try again on Saturday.

After travelling to Wales several times I finally walked up (and down - no cheating) Snowdon five years ago. Mid September I plan to hike the route from Lake Ogwen up to the Glyders and over to Tryfan if I can. Today is my first to visit this webcam site, and I weep to think of the beauty of this area. Many, many thanks!

This has to be one of my favourite places in the world. What a great view - first thing I look at every morning when I log on - sets me up for the day. Spent a great few days there a couple weeks ago. Went up the North Face of Tryfan, took a great picture of my son and his girlfriend on the Cannon. Thanks for my "daily dose" of North Wales.

I love the view from your webcam, Tryfan has to be my favourite mountain, been up so many times yet still find it fun.I've just returned to hill/mountain walking after a 14 year break, and have to say I'm surprised the rescue teams aren't busier than they are. Every time I go out there seems to be a steady strem of ill-equipped people who ain't got a clue. Some get quite annoyed if you offer some simple advice. The mountains are free for all to enjoy, just wish some people would respect them and heed advice when offered.Keep up the good work guys (OVMRT) you do a fab job, hope we never meet though.

Great to see the Ogwen valley, Tryfan was one of the first climbs I attempted with my two sons, thanks to the help of a mountain leader I bumped into. I'll never forget hearing the fighter jets & looking to the skies only to find they were below us as we climbed Tryfan.

What a great view! Thanks a lot for having such a useful camera. I'll be watching it every day, is like having a bit of snowdonia in my living room!

just got back from Llanrwst. great to see Ogwen and the Glyder range. went to Ogwen Cottage 41 years ago for two weeks mountain climbing etc with the rescue team coming from Birmingham then, it really was exciting. it is still as beautiful now as it was then. I will be tuning into your cams.
