Rhos-on-Sea Heritage Trail

Rhos-on-Sea prom by Colin Hazelden This walk has been written by Ian Reid and is also available in a leaflet published by Conwy County Council.

This tour of Rhos-on-Sea introduces you to its rich historic heritage. Its core is a walk of about an hour centred on the promenade. Three optional extensions have been added for those with more time and energy.

The complete trail, including the delightful walk to the Bryn Euryn hill fort, (well worth it for the superb views alone) would take between three and three and a half hours. As the route is circular, it can be joined at any point. Directions are in red and points of interest are also given a red number, so it's easy to follow.

There are a number of excellent cafes and teashops in the centre of Rhos, and you will pass three pubs on the walk, all serving food, so rest and refreshment should be readily available. You will also pass a number of benches if you would like some additional pauses so as to take in the pleasant atmosphere!

There is parking along most of the promenade. There are also two car parks (marked P on the map). If you use one these, simply start the walk at the nearest number shown on the map.
