I'm really enjoying exploring Wales at the moment and discovered Porthdinllaen last Autumn. What an idyllic place right on the beach. Had a very nice lunch in the Ty Coch inn and got soaked walking back along the beach to the car. But it didn't spoil a great day.

Very happy memories from 1960 until recently. Learnt to sail, water ski & drink (whilst playing table football in the Ty Coch with ciggie under the table in case parents came in!) I have a copy of an ancient post card showing various families on the beach in the early sixties.

just got back from a lovely holiday on Llyn. Stayed very near to Golf club and visited Ty Coch every day. A very beautiful place and needs protecting by NT. It is a tiny place and couldnt stand too much tourism although the local businesses need tourism. Its a catch 22 situation but well done the lovely people of Nefyn for taking care of this marvellous place.

This was my first time to Morfa Nefyn and I have never been to such an idyllic place,it was like going back in time. The pub in Porth Dinllaen (Ty Coch) is lovely and from there you have a nice walk around the coast and back up towards the golf club. At the top you can look out to sea, fantastic views, and I will certainly be going back this summer. Is there anyone who knows if they rent out the cottages alongside the pub?

I still spend every summer down in Porth Dinllaen. I have been going there for 20 years and will never stop....3 generations of my family have had houses there and ours is currently on Lon Penrhos, 100m from the cliffs, the golf course and the beach!

Spent many happy summers in Porthdinllaen in the '60s, where Norman Hallam owned three of the cottages which he had found full of sand and driftwood in the late 50s and rebuilt. My dad had his toe nearly bitten off by a lobster Hughie the harbourmaster had caught. (Most of them were on tables in Paris by lunchtime) The landlord at the Ty Coch was Louie, I think. There was also "Will the Milk" and I seem to remember him also coming to empty the chemical toilets and carrying them off on a yoke. Also fond memories of the Caeau Capel(sp?) in Nevin.

In the early 1960s I went to Morfa Nefyn working as an au pair for a family who rented a house there. Every day we would walk over the links to Porth Dinllaen and spend the day with other family members who had cottages on the beach. In those days it was pretty isolated and the children spent all day in the rock pools, building sand castles and swimming. Those were the days! I hope the National Trust is looking after it.
