A great walk that climbs out of Llanrwst. Enjoy the great views of the River Conwy winding towards the coast, passing Grey Mare's Tail waterfall, bluebell woods, high pasture and mountain bog. Explore St Rhychwyn's Church - reputed by some to be the oldest in Wales.

I have been promoting this Waterfalll called Grey Mare's Tail for 25 years following a campaign to have the woodland restored to its former glory as one of the major attractions for visitors to Llanrwst. It is a very peaceful & beautiful hidden glade. Then enjoy the pubs & food in Llanrwst. It is located in the historic Eastern area of the Gwydir Forest with several Tudor places of interest including the Bowling Green & viewpoint, the Church & summerhouse built by Sir John Wyn in the 7th Century & his residence at Gwydir Castl Castle. There will be a festival in the a autumn based in the Square of Llanrwst celebrating some of its history that was connected with a Welsh Robin Hood & his role in the War of Roses.,etc.

This is indeed one of the finest walks in the Llanrwst area. We have done it many times during our many stays in the area. A suggestion : also do the walk in the other direction, it is very worthwhile.
