The cinema still seems to be for sale. My father was from Tywyn and my parents used to go to the cinema all the time in the early 1950s when the films changed several times a week. I'd buy it if I could ...

I agree with Jodie. I lived there for nearly 20 years, my son and daughter with her daughter and son still live there. I helped in the Tywyn Baptist Church youth fellowship, also with Tywyn FC, training and running the youth football team with my father-in-law Mr Furneaux. I think outsiders who come to live in Tywyn should get to know the people of Tywyn before making comments like that.

I love Tywyn, the scenery is spectacular - mind-blowing to the human eye to be exact! The people are also beautiful and friendly. How I miss the taste of the Halo ice cream on a Saturday morning.

Tywyn Lover and Caravan Owner, shocked to hear The Cinema is for sale, my family absolutly love it - it's like stepping back 25 years - and it's run which such care. It's great to see that the children are kept under control, what a loss this will be for Tywyn.

We have been holidaying in Tywyn for the past 45 years. The fourth generation are now holidaying there and love it. In fact my 17-year-old grandson still wants to join us when we visit. It is a natural, unspoilt, old-fashioned holiday that does not keep you spending constantly to keep the children amused. Beautiful, peaceful countryside and not a nerve jangling resort.

we have a caravan on Pen llyn, we love it. We spend at least 9 weeks a year there. Very dog friendly and the kids love the leisure centre and cinema. Beautiful beach, love the walk to Aberdovey on the beach. Only one moan. No good pubs.. But the people are so friendly, and the kids love the "mix" at the Neptune Club!!! We just go there to get away from it all and relax.

I have been holidaying in Tywyn since I was about 10, i'm 35 now and agree with NT it's also my most favourite place in the world. We've stayed in caravans, B&Bs and camped there too. Can't wait to return soon. We've done all of the fantastic walks around the area.

I'm a youth from Tywyn. I don't live there any more but it has hurt me to hear what SJ has said.We don't sit around in bus shelters and train stations drinking and smoking all the time. We go to youth clubs, cinema, skate park. We are the locals, if you don't like it, don't come.

We frequently visit Tywyn on our holidays and will for many years to come. The Honey Factory is a must. Especially the honeycomb sprinkles. Walking along the pier is another of our favourite aspects of our holiday to Tywyn. I always recommend Tywyn to my friends and they enjoy it to. It truly is a fabulous place!

i have been visiting tywyn since i was 13 and now i am 32!! It's my most favourite place in the world, it's so tranquil and beautiful. Usually we go camping every year. I love hearing the sounds of the sheep on the hill side in the evenings as the sun is setting and in the morning you can hear all the birds; I love waking up to that sound in the morning. Aberdyfi is great and I always visit the little art gallery there and buy prints to take home with me, I have several pictures now. The beach there is great and I love taking my little boy crabbing, you can spend a whole day doing that, weather permitting!
I always make a trip to the craft centre at Corris, 'Sylvandutch'makes great rustic furniture. On my next trip I intend to buy one of their bowls, I knew I should have bought one last time! Maccynclyth is wonderful for it's range of shops selling all sorts of crafts. We always have a day out there. Tywyn is great because of all the wonderful scenery, the mountains, the beach, watching the high tides. Halo ice cream factory is good too where honey ice cream is made. Tywyn for me is my second home.
oh and I must tell you about the cottage hospital. My son got appendicitis one year and the staff at the cottage hospital were amazing. We were transferred to the aberystwyth hospital by ambulance which wasn't fun on the windy roads! All the staff were wonderful and made us feel at home. I just love Mid Wales, just thinking about it gives me a smile-I feel a camping holiday coming on!

I think Tywyn is a wonderful place to be and I would move there tomorrow if I could find a job. My husband and I will be looking for something we could do to support and help the economy of the town and be able to spend our money and our time in such a lovely place.

I have been coming to Tywyn every year (sometimes more) of my life. It's a great place to get away from it all and go with your family!

I love Tywyn. It's a great place to go to school every morning, especially when it's a clear day and you can see everything from the train. There's plenty of places we can go at lunchtimes, like Skippy's, Co-Op, Tim's Bake'n'Take and the skate park. The views are brilliant - the only problem is how cold it is down the beach in January when we have to do cross country!
