Largely unexplored territory with miles of beach break and sand bars breaking miles out to sea.

I'd like to know where to fish/beachcast around Talybont.

Not very good for surfing really, but boogies better & it's a great beach.

Is there a surf school in Barmouth? We've just got a caravan in Bala and I'm looking for the closest place to learn to surf.

I find the waves are better and bigger more towards Talybont when there is a clean swell and it has perfect peaks when it goes off. On a good day in can be 3-4ft with some long rides. I have bodyboarded the waves up to 6ft on a very good day but thats once in a blue moon. The good thing about this place when it goes off, you have the whole place to yourself!
If you want big powerful waves then head to Porth Ceriad. The best bodyboarding break around for sure. It can be as good as any break in the Canarys with big tubes on a big day! I was there in May 06 and it was good 6-8ft and gnarly.

this place is FLAT. There is maybe a 4 foot wave like 4-5 times a year, no bigger.
