i have surffed this in kayaks and surf boards , this beach can be very dangerous due to the fact there is a rivers running into the sea . the tide pulls you into the rocks just to the side of the mouth of the river. so watch out if u are a beginner!!

Exposed beach but surf tends to be better at high tide with north easterly wind. The long walk to the beach means the surf isn't too crowded. Cable Bay and broad beach near Rhosneigr also good for beginners. Llys Llewelyn in Aberffraw is a good place to stay, and not too far from Rhosneigr which is a chilled out place with a few pubs and restaurants.

I'm not a surfer, but a local resident. The walk is off-putting, but if you go into the village and follow the road along the side of the river it takes you right to the beach, no need for walking. Or when the tide is in, go through the village heading upwards out of the village with the churchyard on your left, and just after reaching the highest point of the road you'll see a little gravel road straight ahead, branching left, this road leads down to the headland where you can easily access the beach. Winter waves here are huge if you have the b---s for it. Hope this bit of local info helps. Happy surfing.

I am a skimboarder and i think it is good for skimming in high tide quick shore break and on good summer days tube riders close to the sand awesome!!!

I tried this break the other day, Hell's Mouth was 4ft+ on the webcam but this wave was little more than 1-2ft, and a gutless one at that. The surf down on the Lleyn peninsula needs to be a solid 6ft to get this place any good.
