Llandudno

Llandudno Bay The Queen of Resorts is best known for the impressive sweep of the Victorian Promenade.

Like Rhos on Sea this spot also faces North East and produces a rideable wave in strong North West winds. In bigger swells it's particularly good as it's sheltered from South West winds thanks to the protection of Great Orme's Head.

I have pics of 'small' but super clean and sunny Rhos on sea surf. Also big windy but rideable Llandudno pier surf. These spots do work, but not often and are never great.

You can surf on the left side of the pier. But lots of BIG boulders. Usually only longboard or SUP. Maybe on bigger days a fish............but dont hang around waiting for surf here, get off your ass and travel.

Welsh Man, Leicestershire
First surfed the North Shore in '67 with fellow pioneer surfers Hilsks (Alun Hughes), Pete Jones, Dave Llestyn-Jones, Paul Rockey, Priddle. At JBGS we persuaded Musso to let us go surfing when others went sailing... Remember a couple of night time sessions with Hilsks on his 9' Tiki popout - we could tell where he was by the whooping and the phosphorescence .. couldn't see him though. Always checked the surf off the school bus, but most of the time lived in hope .. and the weekends when we cruised over to Anglesey and the Lleyn. Usually surf South Wales these days ...

Surf in Llandudno? Very rare, however some of the best kitesurf, buggy and landboard conditions in the UK.
