These pictures were taken by pupils from Ysgol Glan-y-Mor high school in Pwllheli during a series of photo workshops on the BBC Hysbys community bus.

Dewi Jones, a professional photographer from Pontllyfni, gave them advice before they headed for the beach to find their subjects. Then he helped them choose their favourites for the slideshow.

The main aim was to give children an opportunity to take photographs of life within their local communities.

The workshops form part of a wider consultancy project by Gwynedd Council's development department, involving children, young people and families.

There are plans to organise an exhibition of the work, and a selection of the photographs will be used in council literature.

The workshops were organised by Mabis of Menter a Busnes, the Welsh business support organisation.
