Hugh Gibbon, who lives in Sheppey but was raised in Amlwch, Anglesey, submitted these two old photos featuring his father.

He says: "He was at Porthmadog school from about 1910 until the start of World War I, teaching Welsh and history and also being the sports master. His name was WH Gibbon.

After he retired (in 1948) he travelled to Porthmadog to visit the lady with whom he had been lodging while teaching; she was still alive and did remember him! He was then 66, so she must have been much older. Clearly, Porthmadog folk have good memories."
