As a child we spent many happy holidays from the 1950's through to the early 70's at various places in and around Nefyn. We stayed for a few years at Plas Pystill Hotel and I have some very fond memories of the 'old' place and the walk down across the field to the beach. We took our own children there in our touring caravan in 1980s and I would like to go back and see it again.

Please can anyone tell me what has happened to the beautiful old church in Nefyn (with the sail weather vane)? Last time I walked past it was in a very sorry state, overgrown graveyard and locked gates. Who is responsible for its upkeep? This church is mentioned in so many tourist books as worth a visit, I feel very sad when I look at the state of the place. I'm not sure what is happening to Nefyn as everything is closed down, which is such a shame as it is still a beautiful place with some of the best coastline and beaches around. It's about time Gwynedd Council invested some money in the place.

Nanhoron Hotel is the main hotel in the village of Nefyn. There is also one called Caeau Capel. There are plenty of homely B&Bs in and around Nefyn - Terfyn, in Morfa Nefyn is very nice!

Hello There, Alan from Trefor here.I see there are ongoing dialogue and another survey of the pier due to take place.I would like to draw someones attention to the fact that some urgent attention isneeded. I observe the pier on a daily basis. When large waves connect with the structure, pillars and struts are quite visibly about to drop off.If you look at the website for diving sites in this area, Trefor pier offers brilliant facilities for their sport, also its closeness to Dorothea makes it evenmore attractive. They come from far and wide to dive here even today some are here.We want them to%2! 0enjoy themselves and go home in one piece. The safety of my fellow anglers is also paramount. It would be a great shame if the pier was to be taken down. I hope something can be doneto preserve it, even though it is not listed, it is a great asset to this part of North Wales. Can you please pass this message on to anyone who will be able to help with savingTrefor Pier.

I recently learned from searching on the internet that my Uncle Lt. Ben Brew crashed his P-47 Thunderbolt Aircraft 1 mile off-shore from Nefyn on July 23, 1944. Is there any local records of this accident or recovery. He was listed as MIA and never found as far as we know.

I am trying to find the name of the church at which the artist and poet J Laurence Hart is laid to rest. He passed away in the village in 1907.

I am interested in Plas Pistyll and would like to see any old photographs of it in its early days when occupied by the Goddard family and also of the generating house.

Reading Ashcroft's comments about the Old Pistyll Hotel - Is this Plas Pistyll Hotel as I Know it to be? We had our wedding reception there in 1966 and would be interested to know if there are going to be changes to the hotel, or any information about it.

My grandparents were born in Neyfn, I was told that they named the houses, theirs was called Jericho, and it was on a hill. Just curious if anyone knows of it.

My great, great grandfather (Thomas Turner)was the landlord of the Sportsman Inn on the High Street in the 1870's and 1880's. I would like to know about the history of this pub.
