"I thought it was about time I shared the most amazing experience of my life with others. Some may think it was my sister being born, others may think it was the day when I won first prize in an art competition, but you would be wrong!
On 4 January 2005 I fulfilled my dream. I became Everton Football Club's Toffeelady!
I am a totally obsessive Everton fan and ever since I was six years old my ambition has been to be part of the club for the day, either as mascot or the traditional Toffeelady. I became anxious when I turned 15 as the age limit to fulfil this role is 16 years old. I wrote letters to everyone I could think of at Everton Football Club and at last, after waiting almost 10 years I got my wish. I was going to be Toffeelady at the match against Portsmouth.
The preparations for my big day started well in advance, as I was the oldest and tallest Toffeelady Everton had had for decades; I had to get my own royal blue dress made instead of the club supplying it on the day.
I broke the news to my friends and family and they all were very excited. My family and eight of my friends travelled down to Liverpool to see me on my special day, it was also my sister's first visit to Everton to see a live match.
It was a night match so the atmosphere was overwhelming, walking out onto the pitch with the players and all the fans shouting at me to give 'em a toffee. I had the honour of walking round the pitch throwing toffees to the wonderful fans. I was treated like a princess for the whole time I was there by having the opportunity to meet all the players and manager in the dressing room; my favourite player, Duncan Ferguson even paid me a special visit for photos and autographs.
This was a big night for all Evertonians as Everton had bought a new £6 million striker James Beattie and that night was the night he was getting introduced to the fans. I met him before all of the fans saw him and had the honour of introducing him to his new team mates before the match.
That evening was the best evening of my life and nothing will ever compare. That night we won in the final minute of injury time with Leon Osman (who I love to bits!) scoring the goal.
Since then I have had my stint of fame with people recognising me as the Toffeelady. I was interviewed on Radio Cymru and on the programme Sgorio and I appeared in The Daily Post on the day of the match, in Llais Ogwan and surprisingly was in Nuts magazine - against my wishes!
I write to Everton on a regular basis, sending players birthday cards and wishing them good luck for future games. That night was amazing and I will never, ever forget it.
I would like to thank everyone at Everton Football Club for making it so special."
