Hecate

  • Artist / Band: Hecate.
  • From: Blaenau Ffestiniog.
  • Style / Influences: A bit of everything except Rap! Franz Ferdinand, Nirvana, Metallica, Wednesday 13 and loads more.
  • Who's in the band? Keely (vocals), Daniel (bass), Ricky (lead guitar), Iwan (rhythm guitar) and Nathan (drums).
  • Been going since: Late 2003.
  • Where they play: Anywhere we can!
  • Favourite local venue: Queens, Blaenau and Battle of the Bands, Llangollen.
  • Songs they cover: Whiskey in the Jar.
  • Recordings available: Heroin and Special Brew and I Hate You So on CD that we done ourselves. Lies will be out soon.
  • Best moment so far: Getting through to finals of Battle of the Bands 2005.
  • Future plans: To play at as many places as possible.
  • Favourite other local bands: T.S.G., Hell Grave, G.O.M. and Kentucky AFC.
  • Any bad gigging moments so far? All gigs are good although could've done better in a few.
  • What's in the name? Hecate - Goddess of dark places, often associated with witchcraft and sorcery.

  • Who'd you like to see down the front? Kurt Kobain, Satan/Jesus and our mummies.
  • New law your band would introduce? That Hecate could rule the world.
  • Anything else we should know? Rhys Roberts from Anweledig/Complete Music Control/Gwallgofiaid has helped us loads. We couldn't of done it without you Rhys. T.S.G. rock.
