These pictures were taken by pupils of Ysgol yr Eifl, Trefor, during a series of photo workshops on the BBC Hysbys community bus with Dewi Jones, a professional photographer from Pontllyfni.

The main aim was to give children an opportunity to take photographs of life within their local communities.

Dewi gave them advice on taking pictures and suggested they didn't have to pick conventional subjects for photography. He helped them choose their favourites for the slideshow.

The workshops form part of a wider consultancy project by Gwynedd Council's development department, involving children, young people and families.

There are plans to organise an exhibition of the work, and a selection of the photographs will be used in council literature.

The workshops were organised by Mabis of Menter a Busnes, the Welsh business support organisation.

The other schools involved were:
Ysgol Gynradd Bro Lleu, Penygroes
Ysgol Uwchradd Glan-y-Môr, Pwllheli
Ysgol Gynradd Penybryn, Tywyn
Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn
