Thank you Pat and Gwyneth for your kind responses to our quest. My sister says she's made contact with the Nurse in Glan Conwy, a very distant cousin of ours. I was a needlework teacher, Miss Nurse, from 1968 till I changed course and ended up as a special needs teacher.

I attended Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy 1962 - 1966-7 and my sewing teacher was Mrs Nurse From Glan Conwy. Hope this is of some help.

FAO Carol Pickering & Maureen BaleRe: surname NURSE...I remember a family with the surname NURSE. There is still a Nurse living in Glan Conwy. My cousin is in contact with him. Write to me and I will get more details for you - my name and Llanrwst will get to me.

Does anyone in the village have the surname Nurse? We'd like to find if we have any relatives there still. Our father, Wallace Nurse, came from Llanrwst. He, a brother & father ran the bus service to Llandudno in the 1920s.

Your photos give such a feel of the place and people. What a brilliant idea.Perhaps we should do it for our website showing this patch of 'Coleridge Country' within an Area of Outstanding Beauty.

Hi all, My late father Arthur Thomas was a much loved character of Llanrwst{who lived in the warden controlled flats behind the 'square's' pub}. He loved the area and always went walkabout collecting things. My father would have loved the photo's and was proud of being a Welsh speaking Welshman.

What a wonderful idea! I'm going to get our town to do this, too. Lake Forest Park is a suburb of Seattle and our population is about 13,000. This would be a wonderful way to preserve our history. (Though it's not nearly as historical as yours!) This is a wonderful site for a third generation Welsh-American. Thanks very much. By the way, is that my friend Gwawr of Bys a Bawd?
