"My in-laws gave this chair to my husband when he first got married, so he's had it for about 32 years.
His parents were given the chair after the death of the old lady who lived in the large house next to the family farm, Berth Ddu. The old lady's house used to be a country hotel, but is now owned by a local solicitor.
We don't know anything about the chair. Various people have given us their opinion over the years. Some said it's from the 18th century, but others told us it can't possibly be from then, because it's Elizabethan.
We'd just like to know something about it and find out if we should stop using it to dump our coats on!
An hour later...
The expert told us it's worth about £500. I don't think we'll be leaving our coats on it anymore!"
