After reading about Tremadog-born T E Lawrence in our Hall of Fame, Graham Cathcart from Leicester got in touch to say: "I have an unpublished photo of Lawrence in Cairo taken by my great uncle who served in the region."
The picture is published above, along with more photos of the same period from Graham's great uncle.
"My great uncle, a keen photographer named Ernest Law, served with the Leicester Battalion of the Royal Horse Artillery and was at the battle of Romani. He later served in Palestine," Graham explains.
"The Leicester 1/1st served in the UK until 1916 when it went to the Middle East, forming 3rd Brigade RHA TF with the Somerset Battery. In 1917 it transferred to the 20th Brigade RHA TF. The battery remained in the Middle East until the end of the war."
