Caernarvonshire Historical Society
Caernarvonshire Historical Society has a busy summer ahead. Their recent programme of events has included lectures on the old county of Caernarvonshire and the American Civil War, and the relationship between the county and the Royal Agricultural Society.
There was also a walk around historic Llanrwst, visiting Gwydir Castle (pictured) and Gwydir Uchaf Chapel.

Wondering about how to find court records for the crime my ancestor Daniel Jones, sentenced in 1849 Anglesey, sent to jail in Portland (found him in the 1851 census) and sent to Western Australia 1851. Would love to know what he did. His children were born in Bangor, Elizabeth, John, Owen, all arrived in Australia 1854.
