In addition to my commentary, I should like to add that Prince Edward was created the first English Prince of Wales in 1301, by King Edward I. The title Prince of Wales was granted to Llywelyn ap Gruffydd in 1267, as part of the Treaty of Montgomery. Llywelyn was the first native prince to formally hold the title. After Llywelyn's death in 1282, the title was then adopted by the English kings and conferred on the eldest son of the reigning monarch. Owain Glyndwr was later crowned Prince of Wales in the 15th century and was the last native prince to claim and hold the title. Edward II was thus created the first English Prince of Wales in 1301 and not the first Prince of Wales.

Owain Glyndwr
Does CADW stand for Campaign Aimed at Destroying Wales? How was he the first Prince? Ever heard of Owain Glyndwr, Llywelyn ap Gruffudd?

Paul Williams has a voice that surely the angels would envy, he kept me listening and interested in every word about the castle.
