Best advice: Stick to it! It doesn't matter if you have a bad day. We all deserve a treat now and again. Tomorrow is another day. Another tip is to write everything down.

At the beginning of 2003 I had cold after cold after cold, so I went to see the doctor. I was tested for thyroid problems but the results came back and showed that I was diabetic. This scared me. I was told that unless I got down to my ideal weight then my vital organs would cease to work and that in time this would kill me. That was the push I needed. In May 2003 I joined Weight Watchers and I've not looked back since.

I go to the gym every Monday night, I swim three lunchtimes a week and try and do some activity with the children at weekends - swimming, cycling or walking. Now I've lost 4 stone I am determined to get to my goal weight for October/November of this year.

I have some friends that are also doing Weight Watchers. I know we can do it together!
