"We have lived here for six years now and our garden is still an ongoing project, like most gardens are. You can always find things that need doing or need changing."

We consider ourselves lucky really because we had a blank canvas to start with, even though it was very overgrown. As everyone knows, gardening is an ongoing pastime, and we both love it. We try to make it look a little bit different each year, by planting and sowing annuals among the perennials, it gives it lots more interest, besides lots of different colour combinations.

Mary has retired and I am semi-retired, so we both have lots of time for our favourite hobby. This year we have not done a great deal to it, as next spring and summer we are going to be doing a big makeover, moving the rockery back about a foot to make the path a little wider, and level out the slate slabs."
