Colwyn Bay Football Club is a member of the UniBond First Division Southern League and celebrated their 125th anniversary during the 2005/2006.
The Seagulls came close to achieving promotion to the UniBond Premier Division at the end of the 2006/2007 - losing to Cammell Laird in the First Division play off.
There is a sense of renewed optimisim within the club at the start of the 2006/2007 season as they seek to climb the English non-league pyramid.
The close season has seen major ground improvements at Llanelian Road, including installation of 403 seats and future plans include an upgrade of the floodlights.
The club is keen to develop its links with the local community and a five-year community affairs plan is aimed at forging closer links between the football club and the local community to promote the commercial and social benefits for all.
That includes encouraging people often excluded from the game, such as women, disabled people and ethnic minorities to become involved in football.
This coming season a Kids for Free scheme is to be sponsored by Coleg Llandrillo Cymru. The scheme provides free admission for under 14s accompanied by an adult to all league matches at Llanelian Road during the 2007/8 season.
As well as the first team, the club has a successful ladies side and a thriving juniors section.

i wouldnt mind playing for the bay but i'm not part of any other team. do you have open trials that anyone can go to? there's probably loads of local talent in the town, then there wouldn't be any need for all them scousers playing for us

Colwyn Bay and Llandudno should merge under one banner and stay in the English league. Redevelop Town's ground, sell off Llanellian for a fair amount of cash to property developers and use the money to build on the club getting to the Conference League.
There is a population base of around 60K and the club could easily compete at that level... Who dares wins!
