    About the Club

  • Ground: The Oval, Marcus Street, Caernarfon, Gwynedd.
  • Telephone: 01286 675002
  • Nickname: The Canaries
  • Brief History: An athletics club was formed in Caernarfon in 1876 to take part in football and cricket. Due to the yellow and green colours worn during this time, the nickname 'The Canaries' was born. Carnarvon Athletic moved to the Oval in 1888 after many years of playing in various grounds. The athletics club went out of existence in 1893 and following brief formations of other clubs in the town, Caernarfon United was founded in 1906. It was in 1937 that Caernarfon Town was formed and were members of the Welsh League (North) Division One for 39 consecutive years. Caernarfon came 9th in the 2003/04 Welsh Premier league table.

It's a shame to see my former team being relegated. I hope that Caernarfon Town will come back better than ever. The youngsters in the area need to be given a chance to compete at the highest level.

Mark Harris who has just signed up for us was at Wrexham. Quality player by the way, should have made it pro at Wrexham easily, their loss our gain.

Caernarfon Town have always turned it back on home grown local talent, always preferred to get players in from other clubs and paying them stupid amount of money (the Real Madrid of north Wales), wasting money that they didn't have & getting nowhere. so caernarfon town you deserve everything you get.
