Brief History: It's believed that a football team was first formed in Bala in the 1880s; they used to play on the shores of the lake, and so are often known as the Lakesiders.
Bala teams have been known as the Bala Thursdays and the Bala Press Team and was based at Castle Park (now the town cricket pitch) until the 1950s, when they moved to their present location.
They entered the Welsh National League Wrexham Area in the 1950s and after 50 years of rising and falling within its divisions, they were promoted to the Cymru Alliance in 2004, becoming league champions in 2009.

This is what real football's all about! Gone are the days when a newly-promoted team to the English so-called Premier League could go on to win the title, yet in the Welsh Premier anything's possible! The excitement and anticipation is tremendous, unlike in the English Premier League where you know where your team will finish at the end of the season before a ball's kicked. So come on Bala!
