The 4-1 defeat instead gives their opponents Holyhead Hotspur an outside chance of overtaking them and landing the title themselves.
All of that could change however if Bala can beat LEX XI in midweek the title would be theirs. Mike Kelly provided Spurs with an 18th minute lead but it was all square at the break when Gary Penlington levelled with the last action of the half. The second period was dominated by Holyhead, who really became 'party-poopers' when Kenleigh Owen, Lee Webber and Curt Williams had Bala flopping to a 4-1 defeat.
Gresford Athletic's future as a Cymru Alliance side hangs in the balance after being held to a 1-1 draw by Buckley. Gresford only have themselves to blame for not turning chances created by Darren Jones, Gareth Williams and Owen Roberts into goals.
It was Buckley that opened the deadlock when Adam Renshaw scored on the hour mark. Mike Pugh had a glorious opportunity to level but his penalty three minutes later was saved by Louis Mackie. The hosts did manage to salvage a point from the encounter and Pugh atoned with a well executed goal 3 minutes into stoppage time.
LEX XI fell behind to a hotly disputed penalty against Llanfairpwll which left manager Colin Parry in a rage. "Due to the hard ground, the ball bounced off the rock solid surface and it was impossible for centre back Paul Griffiths to move his hand", said Parry.
Richard Owen easily converted the resulting penalty. He added "we bossed the second half and both Simon Smith and Mike Griffiths squandered good chances. But with 10 minutes remaining, Aaron Aby found himself free just inside their half, he raced forward and scored with a stunning shot from way out to square the match."
Denbigh Town were beaten 1-0 at home by Ruthin Town, a 37th minute goal from Mike Garrod proved decisive..
Glantraeth shared the goals and the points with Penrhyncoch and the scoreline finished 1-1. The visitors took a 25th minute lead through Josh Shaw but Glantraeth managed a deserved equaliser on the stroke of half time through Mark Owen.
Guilsfield were still in at the break at Llandudno when it was goal-less but all of a sudden things went wrong. Toby Jones converted a 60th minute penalty and before the cheers died down, Lee Thomas doubled his sides account. Guilsfield were forced to throw caution to the wind and Llandudno's victory was cemented by Danny Jones with 8 minutes left.
Mynydd Isa now look a great bet all of a sudden to finish in fourth spot after defeating neighbours Flint Town United 2-1. Flint had Paul Williams steering them into an early lead after their hosts had failed to clear an in-swinging corner. Paul Connolly squared things, beating Andy Hughes from close range with Anthony Williams being the provider and when a neat chip from Neil Wynne beat Hughes from the edge of the box in the 88th minute, it proved decisive.
