So many of the pundits had this encounter down as the day's draw banker, but things did not turn out that way with hosts Llangefni winning this one sided encounter with ease, 5-1.
Completing their nap hand were Ywain Gwynydd, Darren Thomas, Geraint Mitchell and Jon Peris Jones with Mark Hobson managing a lone consolation goal.
Caernarfon Town dropped points at LEX XI and to make matters worse, they also had Paul Addo given his marching orders. It was a clash where defences were very much on top. But LEX did create the better of the chances, most of which fell to new signing Stewart Parry who did eventually break the deadlock with 5 minutes remaining.
Bethesda Athletic have had a mixed start but they had their toughest test so far against a polished Flint Town United who had opened up a two goal interval lead through strikes from Sean Beck and Paul Williams. Craig Roberts did reduce the arrears but Beck sealed the points in the dying seconds.
Gresford Athletic got their first point on the board and had a praiseworthy 1-1 draw at Holyhead Hotspur. But to sour the result, they had Lee Phelan (pictured) dismissed after receiving two yellow cards.
It was Phelan who set up the Gresford goal, swinging in a cross from the left and Craig Williams beat Mike Doutch with a deft header. Spurs were the better of the two sides and they salvaged a point courtesy of a 49th minute goal through Lee Webber.
Man of the match was Gresford keeper Gareth Rowland who denied Mike Edwards and Mel McGuiness with two breathtaking saves.
Denbigh Town notched the first points of their campaign after securing a 2-0 success over Berriew. On target were Kevin Evans and Craig Wilkinson who notched in stoppage time at the end of each half.
Llangollen crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Llandudno. After an even first half, only a Lee Thomas penalty split the sides. But Llangollen keeled and Paul Roberts and Toby Jones made the most of the hosts' superiority.
Mold Alex are enjoying their joint second place berth and they were deserved 3-1 victors over Guilsfield. Mold's Darren Pritchard converted a 15th minute penalty and midway through the half, Simon Holloway extended their lead further. Ritch Ashley had pegged a goal back to set up a tense finish but Pritchard sealed the points, doubling his personal tally in the 77th minute.
Llanfair PG sit in that dreaded wooden position after being over-turned 1-0 at home by Penrhyncoch, the only goal of the game came 10 minutes from time from Josh Shaw.
