Maximum points clearly looked in the bag for the hosts, but in a series of late sorties, Marc Evans netted his 15th goal of the campaign to level this match and in a dramatic finish, Mike Kelly netted a last-gasp Spurs winner.
Not many are betting against Bala Town lifting the title though at the moment and, granted it was not vintage Bala on this occasion, but they still fought out a 2-1 success at Llandudo which is always a difficult place to go and win.
It was a barren first half, but Warren Duckett opened their tally in the 52nd minute. Jason Sadler cancelled out the lead just moments later from the penalty spot. Bala seem at their best and they dug deep to conjure up a late winner through Craig Papirnyk.
Glantraeth were sunk 3-0 by Buckley Town who are building up a nice head of steam and are on a six game unbeaten roll. They took a 20th minute lead when a Joe Garner corner was nor properly dealt with and Mark Roberts prodded the ball home from close range.
Garner was involved in just about every attacking move for and it was a shot just inside the box which the keeper failed to gather and defender Chris Knowles doubled the Buckley account.
The hosts were also second best for all of the second half and they put this game out of sight late on. Sam Grimster and Mitchell Booth created a simple opportunity for John Dowridge to score from an acute angle but an act of stupidity saw Miles Todd being dismissed for violent conduct to slight sour the Buckley success.
Gresford Athletic are struggling to cope with life in the Cymru Alliance, but they did deserve something out of their clash with Llanfairpwll, albeit long-serving goalkeeper Gareth Rowland did come to their rescue on several occasions.
A Wyn Jones corner shaved the visitors' bar and came back off the crossbar and a text book save from Ben Heald from his own defender kept them in the game. Richard Owen was a continual thorn in the Gresford side though and he bagged a late winner for Llanfair, which was a cruel blow for the hosts.
There were plenty of goals on offer at the Mynydd Isa and LEX XI game which Isa just shaded 4-3. Six of them came in a pulsating opening half, Isa took a 2-0 lead when Paul Connolly headed home a Joe Desormeux free-kick and then Sam Pugh doubled their account after being set free by Anthony Williams.
LEX hit back in the best possible fashion to take control and strikes from Mike Latham, Aaron Edwards and Leighton Roberts turned this game on its head. Just prior to the break though, Isa levelled through a Dean Hardstaffe power header. The second half ebbed and flowed and both sides had ample of chances, but an 83rd minute strike by Isa's Danny Nolan proved decisive.
Ruthin Town have shot up the table after their slim 1-0 win over Llangefni Town, Lennox Beddows bagged the game's only goal in the 53rd minute.
Denbigh Town have steadied the ship and what a brilliant capture Calvin Davies appears to be for Tim Dyer. He again opened up the Denbigh account with just 10 minutes gone in their home clash with Penrhyncoch. Kevin Evans doubled their account and, despite Tiago Fa Silva's reply on the half hour mark, the result was never in doubt.
Mold Alex have been the surprise package this term and they snatched a deserved point in a 2-2 draw at Llandyrnog to keep intact there unbeaten record away from home. Ian Dunn opened the 'Dyrny account early on, but Mold wiped out the lead with a goal from Mike Roberts.
On the hour mark, Geraint Jones restored Llandyrnog's lead with a bizarre goal which involved a speculative long range effort which Mold keeper James Collins failed to deal with.
Dave Gleave equalised again for Mold and with parity restored both sides went in search of the winner, but there was an ugly end to what had been a sporting encounter when the hosts had Graham Owen dismissed and Mold's Dave Gleave was also shown the red card following a skirmish.
