Holyhead completed their campaign with a 2-0 victory at Penrhyncoch courtesy of strikes from Gareth Caughter and Ian Williams.
The dress rehearsal for the NEWFA Challenge Cup on Tuesday night between LEX XI and Mynydd Isa turned out to be a real damp squib. In fact the vast majority of the neutrals present would have hardly recognised a player on view.
It will also be an afternoon to forget for Isa defender Illya Haycock who was dismissed in the second half for a wayward challenge.
For LEX, Andy Harrison had a dream home debut, grabbing a goal in each half and sandwiched in between was an excellend effort for reserve team player Mike Love who doubled the LEX lead with only 15 minutes gone.
Isa did manage to salvage some pride and Alan Dawson pegged a goal back.
It was earlier in the week that Holyhead claimed second spot and, even with the pressure on, they scalped Llanfairwll 3-1. There was a touch of fortune about Spurs opener from Lee Webber after 39 minutes which was in fact wind assisted.
Mark Evans and Kenleigh Owen provided the visitors with a three goal cushion Billy Evans grabbed a late consolation goal for the hosts.
Ruthin Town secured a place in the top six with a comfortable victory over LEX XI. Gwidion Ifan, Tom Daulby and Liam Jones had Ruthin in control prior to LEX reducing the arrears through a Carl Andrews penalty. Lennox Beddows restored the three goal before Arron Aby a second goal for LEX.
In the North Wales Coast Challenge Cup, Llandudno defeated Glan Conwy in the semi-final, so they now go on to meet Gap Connahs Quay in the final. Phil Jones
