Beaumaris Festival

Harpist Elinor Bennett Spring Bank Holiday week is always a busy time for the people of Beaumaris as their annual arts festival brings in the crowds. In 2004 it opened on Saturday May 29 at 12.30pm with a display by the Red Arrows RAF Aerobatic Team.

There were recitals by young artists and guest speakers at the town's leisure centre during the day, as well as the evening performances:

Opera singer Maria Ewing performs music from Broadway and Hollywood

A double harp recital by Elinor Bennett and Catrin Finch

June 2
The Rhos Orpheus Male Voice Choir

June 3

Crasdant folk group

June 4
Welsh Chamber Orchestra play the Sea Requiem, Sinfonia Concertanta and Symphony No.3 in E Flat

June 5
Soprano Simona Mihai and baritone James Harrison perform with the Welsh Chamber Orchestra

Throughout the festival week, there is a craft fair in the marquee on the green.

Directions
Take the A55 or the A5 towards Bangor, cross the Menai Strait by either of the bridges. Bear right, and travel through Menai Bridge town following Beaumaris signs.
