"There was a rare opportunity to hear Tom Laughlin, the brilliant clarinetist from New Orleans, who was born and bred there, also two of the leading young jazz bands from Europe, Dixi (Norway) and Oriental (Holland).
Ronald Andersen (Denmark) the brilliant Django-Reinhardt style guitarist all played and the popular headline jump jive group King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys were among many to perform in the 2005 festival.
Two wonderful local bands were an unmissable experience, the prize winning Oakley Brass Band were back by popular request as were the Gwynedd and Anglesey Youth Jazz Band.
Throughout the festival there is an emphasis on youth. Following three days of workshops in the local schools, there was be a special youth concert in the Village Hall led by the well known musician Huw Warren. There was also be young people from all over Gwynedd for the first time at our festival to enjoy making music with a variety of instruments from harps to saxophones.
The popular Saturday morning parade, led by four Lusitano stallions and parade marshals, was be followed in 2005 by two bands and as usual included children and adults with their decorated hats and brollies. The dressing of the shop windows and the street bunting all help to create a 'mardi gras' atmosphere.
Music and dance resounds round the village throughout the festival weekend, encouraged by the street buskers, the influx of over 1,000 visitors, the community spirit, all ensuring our festival continues to improve and grow from strength to strength."
