The stars of 2008

John Barrowman stars on Sunday

Friday 22 August
Opening this year's festival are Boyzone, fronted by Ronan Keating and performing their greatest hits on the outdoor stage.

They'll be joined by girl group Hope, fresh from the X-Factor and a tour with Westlife.

Saturday 23 August
The opera gala brings together bass-baritone Bryn Terfel, South African tenor Johan Botha, soprano Diana Damrau and mezzo soprano Nadia Krasteva from Bulgaria, a soloist with the Vienna State Opera.

The Orchestra of the Welsh National Opera will be conducted by Gareth Jones.

Get ready for some great West End hits from Torchwood star John Barrowman, Any Dream Will Do competitor Daniel Boys and actress and singer Shân Cothi, no doubt joined by Bryn too.

Jodie Prenger, winner of the recent BBC1 competition to find a new star to play Nancy in Oliver!, will also make an appearance.

Monday 25 August
Tân y Ddraig (the Dragon's Fire) stars Cerys Matthews in a night of Welsh rock and pop, which also features Bethesda band Maffia Mr Huws and West Wales singer-songwriter Ryland Teifi.

More names have yet to be announced for the Dragon's Fire night.
