Some of your favourite TV and radio presenters were in the Dolgellau area in March 2008 when BBC Wales was in town with its flagship community collaboration, Here For You.

The four-week project, Here for You! with BBC Wales, put Dolgellau under its very own media spotlight throughout March and involved every area of BBC Wales's output - television, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru and online services - encompassing everything from news, arts and education to drama, music and sport.

Local people were invited to get hands-on by contributing to programmes, developing ideas for stories that are important to them and writing for BBC websites.

An advisory group of local people helped hatch plans for BBC Wales's output from the area.

"This is a major project for BBC Wales," explained Alison Quinn, producer, before the project kicked off. "We're really looking forward to coming to Dolgellau and hope to gain a real understanding of the town and its people. It will enable the rest of Wales to learn more about Dolgellau, since it will be a focus for so much of our output on TV, radio and online.

"There's already a buzz about this idea around the town. We'll be broadcasting radio and television programmes, creating online material, holding workshops and performances, and much more."
