Crossing generations

Interviewing in the BBC's Hysbys studio

Last updated: 23 May 2007

Sugar-coated petticoats, high tea at the Metropole and romance on the pier - was 20th century life in Colwyn Bay better than today?

As part of the BBC's Here for You events in Colwyn Bay during April and May 2007, pupils from the town's primary schools got down to asking their elders some serious questions about life, their town and everything.

They took over the BBC's bus and invited nains and taids (grandparents), neighbours and dinnerladies onboard to quiz them about what life used to like be in Colwyn Bay.

Listen to the interviews at these schools:

Old Colwyn Junior School
Ysgol Pen-y-Bryn
Ysgol Pendorlan
St Joseph Catholic Primary School
Ysgol Tan y Marian

Some of the children also looked at old photos of Colwyn Bay brought in by friends and family at Ysgol Pendorlan and Ysgol Pen-y-Bryn.
