"I was in bed when I was suddenly aware of the top of my duvet being lifted, as if someone was looking at me. Then I felt the bedclothes go tight like someone sitting on the edge of the bed. Whatever it was moved down the bed between my feet. But no-one was there.
At first I was scared stiff - then I realised there was nothing to be afraid of and I became deeply relaxed. Then it went, and I realised I was covered in sweat from head to toe.
The only other person in the house was my mother, and I could hear her snoring in the next room. We don't have any pets, and the windows and doors were firmly closed. It happened again a week later - only this time I shouted at it to go away - and it did. I moved my bed after that and haven't had any more visits."

From what I've heard, there are rumours of the English man who heavily taxed the Welsh population of the Shire, was hung by Glyndwr's men following the siege in either the 1402 or 1403 raids of the castle, it is believed that you can hear the chains, not a rope; that they hung him with, being dragged along Palace street on occasions. However it is arguable.

Regarding the nun at Maes Barcer, she is not a nun. Her name is Jane E Thomas, married to Tom from Porthmadog. Search the Caernarfon burial ground and you will find a gravestone of a child age 12 from that address. Do not play around with what you've got there. Take it from me.

I used to live on county road in penygroes nr caernarfon. I moved out the night I saw a ghost of an old man so clearly I could describe him in detail. There has also been a sighting of a figure of a little girl which i think i may have caught on a picture. There have been many other strange things but to much to write about.

Nia from Twthill. I live in Twthil Caernarfon and strange things happen on occasion in the house. A misty/cloudyness appears in the bedroom from time to time but it's not spooky - just very unusual. It's a bit like the steam from a shower but not as tangible. There was also a time that a hairdryer switched itself on when under a pile of clothes in the bedroom. It was unplugged! It sounds unbeleivable but it is true. I actually said out loud that it was time she was left alone and for whoever was there to stop doing this. The television then changed channels on its own.

You can't have an old town like this one without some memories being left behind. I do believe that there is something, as for Twthill, my house isn't very nice to be in on your own. It can get very cold very quickly and then the temperature rises again, plus the front bedroom can get very cloudy, as if it gets dark, then clears away as fast as it came. I'm not scared, but I do get the feeling that I am being watched. I'm glad I'm only renting!

I lived in lon eilian, near lon cefn du when I was younger. I was woken up one night by my mother screaming, my dad thought she was going mad, but she said she was reading her book in bed and saw a man in a monks robe walked right in front of her and through the wall into next door. WE MOVED IMMEDIATELY, there and then, packed and in a b&b, we never went back, only my dad for our stuff !!!

I lived in Henwalia, Caernarfon, for 3 years. Whilst living there, I was woken several times by the noise of clattering metal and what sounded like horses and marching, it tended to fade away after a while. It happened quite a few times. At the top of the street where I used to live is Constantine Road leading up to Segontium the old Roman Fort, so I'm thinking it might be Romans marching? Don't know really, but very very eerie to be woken up by it!

I believe in ghosts and I work in The Crown. Once a man died of old age in the corner of the pub where he went every day. Since then some say the place is haunted. Today I was in the kitchen and a man I work with said he felt cold. He went to get some drinks for us, he came back saying that 3 glasses moved all the way across the shelf and fell.

One day I went up to my sister's house and went straight into the living room wich leads straight into the kitchen with my sister's six-year-old son.Next to the the kitchen door I saw this little girl around the age of three. She was dressed in a cream dress with red roses on the chest & arms... but her face and hair was the same as my sister's three year old daughter who was in bed!I called her name and my nephew turned around and told me that my niece was in bed. As I turned back around to look at her she was gone!

The Anglesey Arms is meant to be haunted. A bit skeptical myself seeing as I work there but there have been one or two unexplainable happenings. E.G. Once a glass fell off one of the high shelves without anyone touching it. But before you think it hit the ground and shattered...it didn't. That's a fall of 6 feet onto stone floor. The stella glasses are the types that are broken most often too. Tis a strange world I work in.

For the people who have been living in the Maes Barcer area for years would like to know if one of the houses in the lower maes barcer estate is haunted? ive been living here since i was a little 8 year old and one day when my dad and uncle were decorating the house i asked my dad if i could venture about and looking at the rest of the house, as i came back downstairs i saw what looked like a black shadow floating at the top of the stairs and when on closer inspection i saw that it was in a shape of a Nun. Of course at that age i didn't know what a nun was but when i asked my ! dad who she was he told me that we were the only ones in the house but a couple of years later on the telly i saw a film with nuns in it, i said to my mother and father that the woman on top of the stairs looked like the one on the telly my mum and dad looked at each other as if to say 'this ones going mad!'. But my dad is a skeptic into the paranormal and my mother is an open- minded skeptic. My dad has seen a black misty shadow in the living room and also me and my mum have seen lots of flying flashing lights also known as 'Orbs' or ' Light Anomalies'. When i leave school i want to be a Paranormal Investigator and it's not as if she bothers me at all it's just i would! like to know who she is .

The original story is not supernatural, it's called a hypnopompic hallucination (forgive spelling). Related to the walking along and suddenly tripping experience some people get while lying in bed trying to fall asleep...

I've had a paranormal experience too, when I was about 5 or 6 yrs of age we had just moved to our semi council house in Maes Barcer in Caernarfon in 1998 when I just asked my father if I could wander about the rest of the house as I came downstairs I saw what looked like a nun. I told my father who was the lady on top of the stairs and said that I thought it was only us in the house and my father just looked at me as if I was going mad! But since then I've seen her lots of times but now I tend to ignore her. She stands on top of the stairs looking down and with her hands held together.
