Veterans' Day celebrations in the UK only began in 2006, but Caernarfon pulled out all the stops to make it a memorable event for 5 July 2008.
The aim of the day is to recognise and support those who have served their country in the armed forces and this year it was also an opportunity to mark the centenary of the Territorial Army.
Highlights of the day on the Slate Quay and in the castle included bands and marching, a fly past, a drumhead service and the presentation of veterans' badges by Veterans' Minister Derek Twigg MP.
Meet Alfred Davies, one of the veterans.

My wife & I went to see the Veterans day parade, apart from the rain we enjoyed ourselves. We met up with my brothers Norman & Geoffrey and my cousin Brian who was in the RWF with me in the 60s & early 70s. We will be there again in 2009 God willing.
