Stacy, anywhere in Caernarfon would suit you! The nightlife is only really the pubs in the town itself, with Cofi Roc + K2 being the only night clubs (if you can call them that!) in the town. Caernarfon is easy to get to even if you live in any of the surrounding villages. It's stumbling home that's the problem!

I want to move to Caernarfon, near the nightlife, but don't know where, any suggestions?

Where can I find info about the wartime Peblig Factory, Caeathrau, Caernarfon? My father and family members worked there during WW2.

Did Laurel and Hardy visit Deiniolen in the late 1940s or early 50s and open the cinema?

I'm doing research on my family tree and trying to find out about my Grandmother's Welsh family. She was brought up in Llandudno and on the 1901 census her father's place of birth is indecipherable. It looks something like Garondohbesnan. Has anyone any idea what it might be as I can find no place name in Caernarfon that looks anything like that?
Web team: Could it be Garndolbenmaen - a village between Caernarfon and Porthmadog in Gwynedd.

When Ruth was writing her books I used to see here and her mother in Portmadoc shopping, they were always together. I had a puppy from Nantmor that we called Shep. We left North Wales in 1972/3. I often wondered what happened to them and was sorry to hear she had died although she was 17yrs older than me. It was nice to read that her daughter Anne is still on the farm. What happened to Clogwyn farm, does anyone know please?

Over 35 years ago I visited Ruth at her farm, had tea with her. I remember how dark the kitchen seemed. My mother told me she was a distant relative. As a child then and even now I was enthralled by the desire to use and nurture the land. With much of that generation now gone, I'm thrilled to hear that Ann still lives on the farm.

re Ruth Ruck. Her daughter Ann still lives on the farm, Ruth died about three years ago I think. She was a pioneer in having llamas on the farm many years ago. The book Place of Stones tells of her early years.

I am seeking information relating to concert parties and the players - in particular in the Caernarfon area in the 1920s when I gather that my grandfather took a role.

About Ruth Ruck - I also would be interested in information about her and the llama, having just read Along Came a Llama.

Does anyone know of a property with the name castellemar. This could be a wrong spelling. My husbands great uncle Luke Stancliffe was a butler at this house and after the master of the house died he married the daughter. We have an old picture of the house but have no idea where it is or what it looks like now. Would love any information.

Does anyone know what the ruin on Cefn Du is? It is constructed in brick, the roof is missing, and has small square holes all along the sides, approx. 7' from the ground.

Can anyone give me any further information on Morgan LLoyd Wine Merchant 1817-1894? Where can I find any photos of Morgan and his family? I am researching our family tree.
Web team: Joan, you might be interested to see our Coast walk in Caernarfon where Morgan Lloyd is mentioned.

To Mavis Gray, Rhosgadfan: The Victoria dock was sold for £1 by Gwynedd Council because they believed it reflected the extensive liabilities and costs attached to developing the site.
