Spent most of my teens on holiday in Benllech. Mum and dad had a static caravan around Lligwy bay. We still go camping on Hewitts field which provides us with the perfect fishing spot off the rocks. Gets really busy around bank holidays. Remember the donkey derbys and the raft race on lifeboat day in Moelfre. Cool place!

Went for a walk across to St David's from Benllech on Saturday and when we got back we noticed the large house to the right of the beach car park had a smashed window. On closer inspection we saw that every window had been smashed and the interior had been totally trashed, even pictures on the walls had been destroyed. Well done the youth of Benllech, your parents must be so proud. Surely somebody must know what is going on with this beachfront house.

I eventually went back to Benllech this September. I did a tour of the old childhood haunts and was pleasantly surprised to see that generally the place was still attractive. Hewitts farm hasn't changed much, the caravans obviously are newer, but it's debatable whether they look better. Roberts cafe is sadly a shadow of its former self, the horses, I assume, have been gone for years along with the little green camp shops. The bay itself looked in good condition, a few of the small shops have gone, along with the Seashell cafe (shame) and the Wendon looked like it could do with an upgrade. There is ample parking and the beach looked clean. Unfortuately the same can't be said of the area round the Creek, which was strewn with litter. I'm sure the council know about it and maybe a weekly clean up would do the job. I will come again to Benllech and maybe even do some luggging. PS. What happened to the old Duck?

I remember years ago old Bob Williams hiring boats out in the creek for 10 bob an hour, helping him to launch the boats and ferrying people past the cave when it was high tide, mackeral virtually jumping in the boats, boiling hot summers staying in a caravan on Hewits, my mum with sunburnt shoulders, the Bay Court used to get so packed you had to sit on the bench over the road, my first knickerbocker glory in the Seashell. Great times.

As a young lad had many happy family holidays at Hewitt's Farm, Benllech from 1963-69. Spent many a day listening to the juke box at the camp cafe (Roberts?) , lugging on the beach, fishing trips on the Duck and swimming in the Creek Pool. I am having a trip there in couple weekes time and will be interesting to see if much has changed. Is the gift shop cumcafe still at the start of the prom and the big cafe at the end.

First visit was when I was about 10 - going camping next weekend on Hewitt's field, and I'm now 52!Have been to countless other destinations but part of my heart will, forever, be in Benllech but please, do something about the state of the village pubs.

Yet another season has started and I am now entering my 65th continuous year of holidays at Benllech. If there is anyone who reads this who has never visited the place, let me tell you that you don`t know what you are missing. However I go along with previous comments re. the shops. What a pity to let them deteriorate just for the sake of a little bit of TLC & DIY

I'm trying to find out more about the Parciau Estate. My Great Grandfather William Parry worked and lived there at Amlwch Lodge and his brother Owen lived at Bangor Lodge which I believe is now a holiday home. I would be grateful fo any info regarding th estate or these houses.
