My Secret Wales

Tuesday, 24 March, BBC Two Wales, 7pm
Wales is full of secret wonders from historic cottages and stately homes, to medieval churches and abbey ruins. Enthusiasts from all corners of the country choose their favourite hidden gems, the buildings and places that may be off the beaten track but have fascinating stories to tell.

The first programme of the series features an historic coach road from Dolgellau to Barmouth, a seaside town of shipwrecks and smugglers.

Local explorer Huw Jenkins looks back at the maritime history of the area and catches up with the divers and sculptors who have contributed to the landscape of modern day Barmouth. Watch a short clip from the programme above.

More on this journey from Huw Jenkins.
