Abergele University of the Third Age (U3A) art club meets every Friday at Abergele Community Centre. Here this enthusiastic group of 50+ painters display some of their work and explain what inspired them to pick up a paint brush.
I joined because the leader is my friend and neighbour. I'm one of the new ones and I particularly love working with watercolour paint and pencils. I never stick to any photographs - it's like Topsy - I just let things grow and grow!
I like it here because you can work undisturbed, without having to follow the instructions of a tutor, though there are always people around to help if you get stuck. Leslie Simpson
