Abergele University of the Third Age (U3A) art club meets every Friday at Abergele Community Centre. Here this enthusiastic group of 50+ painters display some of their work and explain what inspired them to pick up a paint brush.
I'm a founder member of this group, as art was always an interest of mine. I like drawing figures and birds, but also creating some entirely imaginative works, such as my own interpretation of the Vision of Isaiah. I must have an immediate emotional impact from a literary work, then I sit down to visualise it as a painting in more detail. Alan Knowles
