Meet Gwenda Parry
Last updated: 14 July 2008
Gwenda is one of BBC Radio Wales's team of community reporters, working from her home in Moelfre, Anglesey. Here Gwenda tells us about herself.
"Born and bred in Anglesey, I live in Moelfre and have done so since I was 13 - apart from last year when we took a 'life break' in Tenerife for six months.
I've been a bit of Jack of all trades really over the years and I still am to some extent as I freelance in theatre and television since graduating as a mature student in 2000 at Bangor University.
I have permanent part-time work as a lecturer in performing arts at Coleg Menai, Bangor and I'm the clerk to the local community council and local partnership - the community is very important to me.
My other full-time work is mother to Kyle who is six years old and 20 years younger than the youngest of my other children! I'm also proud grandmother to three.
My interests are cooking/baking, drama, music and chardonnay! My soapbox at the moment is recycling."
- Gwenda talks to Matthew Richards about herself, her local area and why she became a community reporter for The View from Here programme.

- Gwenda has a tough first assignment. She visits the renowned chocolate workshop, tucked away on a remote farm on the island, as it prepares for Easter. The hand-dipped and hand-rolled truffles may be a tad more expensive than a Mars bar, but a huge amount of skill goes into making them. Unfortunately Gwenda, a self-confessed chocaholic, has abstained from eating any for a couple of weeks in a health drive. Will she submit to temptation?
Gwenda and the chocolate workshop. - 'Awesome'. That's how Gwenda describes her morning on exercise with the Moelfre lifeboat crew. She called at the station to collect a quick interview as part of another story, but when she was invited to hop aboard she couldn't refuse. Find out just what it takes to be a modern-day hero of the waves.
